AI from Taiwan that Transforms the Manufacturing Sector Expands into Tokyo

QCould you tell us about the history of Profet AI?

I am the Chief of Sales in Japan. Originally from Taiwan and having lived in Japan for 10 years, I joined Profet AI in 2023. Profet AI was founded in Taiwan in 2018 and has been providing AI solutions for the manufacturing industry, with a focus on semiconductors. In 2023, we established a base in China, and by 2024, our number of clients surpassed 300 companies. In 2025, we unveiled our generative AI for enterprises, Domain Twin. Last October, we established a Japanese office in Yurakucho and formally entered the Japanese market.

QWhat prompted your expansion into the Japanese market, and how do you position the Tokyo market?

We have a track record of success in Taiwan and China, but since Japanese manufacturing is at a world-class level, we are eager to contribute. We determined that Tokyo is the center for industry, talent, and networking and decided it should be the first city for our expansion. Thanks to the subsidies from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, as well as support such as introductions to partners, we were able to establish our base in Yurakucho.
As part of our global strategy, Japan is an important market following Taiwan and China. We aim to replicate our successful experiences here and create alongside Japanese companies.

QCould you tell us about the technical strengths of Profet AI?

There are three main strengths.

1. By utilizing an AutoML (automated machine learning) algorithm specifically tailored for the manufacturing industry, we can achieve highly accurate predictions using historical data.

2. The AI model can be managed and operated through AI Lifecycle Management (AILM), allowing for continuous improvements.

3. Furthermore, by utilizing Domain Twin (AI specifically designed for enterprises), the expertise of veteran employees can be transformed into AI knowledge, enabling anyone within the company to make decisions at the same level.
Our competitors include companies like DataRobot from the United States and Dataiku from France, but our strength lies in focusing on the manufacturing industry and emphasizing practical usability for everyone.

QWhat strategies and challenges have you encountered in adapting to the Japanese market?

The localization of the product into Japanese is about 90% complete, but there are challenges with the expressions and nuances of technical terms in the user guide. We continuously make improvements based on feedback from our customers in Japan.
Additionally, as a foreign company with low brand recognition, gaining trust can be a time-consuming challenge. This is why we place great importance on responding sincerely and earnestly and establishing a strong presence in the Japanese market alongside our partner companies.

QWhat efforts are you making with business partners in Japan?

We are already collaborating with three companies in Tokyo: BIPROGY, IT Innovation, and AXLBIT. We collaborate with these companies to handle customer inquiries and provide implementation support.
The start of collaboration often begins with a proof of concept (PoC), with approximately 300,000 yen over a three-month period. We anticipate expanding to full-scale implementation and business partnerships.
The ideal partner is a systems integrator (SIer) with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) with whom we can share mutual goals. We are considering collaboration not only with large corporations but also with medium-sized and small manufacturing businesses.

QCould you tell us about your achievements in the Japanese market and your future plans?

We already have a track record with two companies in the automotive industry and one company in the food industry. We aim for implementation in 20 companies by the end of FY2025. Once we have reached the milestone of working with more than ten companies, we plan to increase our workforce in Japan.
In Taiwan, we support a wide range of clients from the semiconductor to the food industry, and we are similarly exploring opportunities for expansion across various industries in Japan.

QPlease share a message for businesses and support organizations in Tokyo.

The delay in digital transformation poses a significant risk to the Japanese manufacturing industry. We have gained extensive experience in Taiwan and China and have resolved various problems. We welcome you to try it out through a PoC.
